General questions.

QHow often should I vacuum?
It’s best to vacuum your carpet at least twice a week. If you can’t vacuum your entire house this often,  vacuum the high traffic areas at least twice a week.

QWhat can I do to eliminate mold on my carpet?
Locate and repair the source of the moisture. It is best to call a professional water restoration cleaner in order to ensure all mold is eliminated.

QIs there a fiber that will not mold?
Anything can mold as long as there is moisture or a food source. Carpet, including those made of natural fibers such as wool, shouldn’t have mold problems so long as it is kept clean and dry.

QI can see the seams in my room.
No seam is invisible. Seams should be kept to a minimum, running the length of the area making sure the natural light does not strike across the seam. Our professional installers do all they can to minimize seam visibility given the constraints and dimensions of each job.

QGenerally, how long does it take to install a carpet?
Installers average 15 to 20 yards an hour. For example, if you have 80 yards to be installed, the average time involved would be four to five hours of work. If we have to remove old carpet or move furniture, then the job will take longer.

QCan I save money by buying a less expensive carpet and putting the best cushion under it?
There is no question that a good cushion is critical to carpet performance, but remember that you walk directly on the carpet so you want carpet constructed to meet your needs and lifestyle. If you buy a less expensive carpet that doesn't meet your needs, you'll have a cushion that feels great, but you may not be satisfied with the look or wear of your carpet.

QWhat type of warranty do you offer?
Installation has a one year warranty. If the carpet wrinkles, the seams open up, or any installation problem occurs, our installer will come back and repair the problem for up to a year.

Basic Cleaning Steps For All Food and Beverage Spills

Spills happen. Stains don't have to. Follow these general guidelines to prevent carpet blemishes whenever you have a mishap.

  1. Scoop up as much of the spill as possible, with a towel or a spoon.
  2. Blot the spot, don't rub or scrub. Gently press clean cloths into the stained area to remove moisture. Scrubbing can damage the fiber and set the stain into the carpet.
  3. Apply warm, not hot, water to the stained area and blot until the stain stops transferring to the cloth.
  4. If you can still see the stain, make a Detergent Solution by adding 1/4 teaspoon dishwashing liquid to one cup warm water. Don't use too much soap, because it's difficult to rinse out of the carpet.
  5. Apply the detergent solution, let sit five minutes, then rinse with clear warm water. Repeat until all the detergent is removed.
  6. Place layers of white paper towels on the spill to absorb the liquid. Weight down the towels with a non-staining glass or ceramic object. You can let them sit overnight.
  7. When the carpet is dry, vacuum to restore the texture.
  8. If you can see the stain after all this, repeat steps 3 through 7. It means the stain penetrated deep into the pile and has wicked up to the surface.
